One Biovore helps out by throwing mines all over the battlefield and a Tyrannocyte is the only transport Tyranids can take. The Tyrant Guard are more elite foot-slogging bodies that can deal heavy damage in melee.įast Attacks bring in the Parasite of Mortrex, which pumps out mortal wounds and can deep strike in. The Pyrovores serve as some cheap models that can explode for mortal wounds, while the Zoanthropes offer up even more psykers on the list. They become significantly more important in the Warmind. Elites bring in 6 Pyrovores, 5 Tyrant Guard, and 3 Zoanthropes. Out of Focus: While the Hive were central to the plots of two of the first games expansions and a major part of the early half of the first games plot, in Destiny 2 they are less important, only operating on the moon of Titan in the main plotline of the sequel and having little direct influence on the story compared to the Cabal. Troops bring in 6 Warriors, which are solid bodies that can be on the front line and tank some shots or deal some damage. The Neurothrope offers a cheap-ish psyker and the Hive Tyrant is a fantastic stat-stick model with the extra benefit of having a re-roll ability to help out friendly units.
Innes’ winning Tyranids list was a two detachment approach with the first being a patrol led by a Neurothrope and a Hive Tyrant.
